For me, the quality of the speaker is way more important than the amount the company chooses to spend on marketing and distribution. IMO, these are about the best kept secret and value around today. My point is that someone who strictly listens to music in a dedicated music room at more common volumes, might be perfectly satisfied with just the 8F towers. Of course running them full range at reference levels isnt recommended and a sub greatly enhances what these are capable of. Full range, they definitely hold their own. You dont miss much, if anything, in 99.95 of musical content and what is produced is accurate, controlled and played with authority to a respectable volume level. IIRC the KEF do not even have real wood veneers, but they appear to get a lot of attention around here, especially compared to these Tannoy.įor only two channel stereo these things dont really need a sub or a center and are surprising capable in the lower range on music. ![]() Im not claiming that they're identical, but my limited understanding leads me to wonder if KEF doesnt make some models similar to the dual concentric used in the Tannoy.
